The Rise of Social VR – Facebook Will Turn Your Panorama Photos Into 360° VR Images

Facebook’s upcoming “360 Photos” feature will let people upload panoramas taken via mobiles or through 360 cameras. Facebook will then stitch them into 360 Photos for Facebook News Feeds where users will be able to hold and drag to pan around the photos, or move their heads to look around them on Gear VR, Oculus Riftand other VR headsets.  Read more

Introducing VR View: empowering apps and websites with 360° content

In its continuous quest to make 360° content more accessible for the masses, Google unveiled a new tool called VR View. Developers can now embed 360° photos and videos on websites or apps simply by adding a few lines of code. Google says the aim is to make this sort of content more widely available, whether it is a travel company showing off distant resorts and hotels, or an estate agent giving potential clients a sneak peak inside properties.
